Polypropylene - PE

PE is mainly used for consumer goods or toys. The automotive industry also uses this material for e.g. tank containers, motorcycle fenders or in automotive engineering.

Inexpensive starter material for your prototypes

Our grey-black polyethylene ROLASERIT® PE01GR, was launched in 2015 as our second product. This material was developed as a low-cost entry material for simple low-cost prototypes as well as serial parts and makes the mass plastic polyethylene available for laser sintering.

The powder has good powder flowability and is easy to process on machines with good temperature distribution. The parts exhibit stiffness and strength characteristics typical of HDPE with a suitably good level of ductility. The material is characterized in particular by its outstanding chemical resistance which is typical of PE compared to most other laser-sintering materials.

Excellent post-processing

Due to the low hardness properties typical of PE, the parts can be ideally post-processed by blasting and vibratory grinding. A whitish version is also available so that material changes on the machines are simple and uncomplicated.
